Intro
With R185 change to process of crafting has been made. In particular, there is a new way of crafting level 50+ Unique Items and slightly modified way of crafting level 50+ Improved, Magic, Extraordinary and Legendary Items.
Before jumping to crafting changes, lets explain the crucial changes to level 50+ items.

Changes to all items

(initially it was only level 50+ items)

Important: These changes apply to level 50+ items. For lower level item crafting visit Crafting 2.0
Update: With the recent changes all levels regular items have been changed like those from level 50+.
1. All items from all rarities and types (helmets, weapons, boots, rings... etc) are now coming with Base Stats. That includes:

  • Ordinary (white) Items
  • Improved Items
  • Magic Items
  • Extraordinary Items
  • Legendary Items
  • Unique Items

All base stats are random within certain limits per tier/level. You can get any value within the range of min - max value.

Base Values

All weapons are having random values for the minimum and maximum base damage. You can get random minimum base damage from min1 to min2 and random maximum base damage from max1 to max2.

Base Weapon Values

The min and max stats are tied up together, their difference in values (difference between min and max value) are always constant. That means if the minimum possible minimum damage is 468 and the minimum possible maximum damage is 708 the difference is 240. If the maximum possible minimum damage is 594 and the maximum possible maximum damage is 834 the difference between them is 240 as well.
That also means that any random values you are about to get has always constant difference between minimum and maximum damage.
In example, if you get random maximum damage of 825 the minimum damage has to be 585.

Crafting min-max difference

2. All items are having Tiers (including ordinary white items XD).

  • Tier 0 items - you can get them from all normal maps (including normal event maps) and from the shop (including PvP shop).
  • Tier 1 items - you can get them in Parallel World maps in Painful difficulty. Also you can get them from the Event maps in Painful difficulty.
  • Tier 2 items - You can get them from Parallel World and Event maps in Excruciating difficulty.
  • Tier 3 items - You can get them from Parallel World and Event maps in Fatal and Infernal difficulty.
  • Tier 4 items - You can get them from Parallel World and Event maps in Infernal I difficulty.
  • Tier 5 items - You can get them from Parallel World and Event maps in Infernal II difficulty.
TiersTiers1

3. All items are having Gem Slots and Rune Slots.
With the introduction of Runes all items get exactly the same number of Rune Slots with the number of Gem slots available in a particular item (they are inheriting the number of Gem Slots). If the item has 3 Gem Slots additional 3 Rune slots will open. If you later decide to open one or two more Gem Slots in that item, the same additional number of Rune Slots will open on the item (you don't pay any fee for opening them).

Gem-Rune slots

4. Unique Values on Unique Items.
All Unique Items are having original Unique Values, represented in orange color. Those Unique Values are unique to one particular item. Those values can't be improved or transferred to other item.

Unique Values

Non-Unique items crafting

Here we will list only the new rules for level 50+ items. If you are not familiar with the crafting basics please read this Crafting Guide.
All new rules apply to Improved / Magic / Extraordinary / Legendary Items.
Note: Items lower than level 50 are not eligible for Pristine Core and Soul Core transfer crafting. Always check the tooltip of the item if it is eligible for crafting or not.

Eligible for 51

New Rules

The process of crafting is random. All enchantments will be selected randomly from any of the four items (nothing new).

Transferring Base Stats

The base stats are being selected randomly from any of the four items used in the crafting. The whole chunk of base stats is being selected from a same item, not one line from one and the other line from the other item.
However!!!! - If you are using old Pre-R185 crafted level 50 item (items with no base stats shown/present) that means that the base stats from your old item can be selected again and transferred into the new item. Since the base stats of your old item are NULL. That means you can end up with a new higher level item without base stats.

Inheriting base stats example:
Leg to leg first itemLeg to leg second itemLeg to leg third itemLeg to leg fourth item

The final outcome with the inherited base stats:

Leg to leg outcome

Example of item with inherited NULL base stats (Item with no base stats):

Higher level leg without BS

Transferring Tiers

Inheriting Tiers
The Tier of the item is being selected randomly as well. That means you can get tier from any item even if that item is not passing enchantments or base stats to the new item.
Example:
Inheriting Tiers 2Inheriting Tiers 3Inheriting Tiers 4Inheriting Tiers 5

Inherited Tier in the crafted item:

Unique Items crafting

Note: only level 50+ unique items are available for crafting.
Unique Items can be crafted in three ways:
- They can be crafted with regular items like Legendary Items so you can transfer the enchantments from the Legendary Item into Unique Item. This kind of crafting is known as Pristine Core transfer crafting
- They can be crafted with same Unique Items of same and different Tier. This kind of crafting is known as Soul Core transfer crafting.
In order to craft them you will need various Cores. In the tooltip of the item you can see IF that item is eligible for crafting. IF the item is eligible for crafting the tooltip is stating what kind of cores you will need for the recipe.
- Unique Items can be crafted with Legendary Items with one tier higher than the unique item. This type of crafting is known as Augment Core Transfer Crafting and it is used for upgrading the Tier of an Unique Item.

Cores

The amount of cores required in the process of crafting (both for Pristine Core and Soul Core transfer crafting) is x100 for Tier 0 and +50 for each additional tier.

  • Tier 0 - x100
  • Tier 1 - x150
  • Tier 2 - x200
  • Tier 3 - x250
  • Tier 4 - x300
  • Tier 5 - x350
  • Tier 6 - x400

This applies to all cores listed below.

  • Pristine Core1 Icon Pristine Core - You can transfer the enchantments of an enchanted item onto a unique item with Pristine Core Crafting. For that combine:
    • A unique item eligible for transfer crafting (stated on the item)
    • An enchanted item of the same item type (e.g. Helmet, Axe,...)
    • An amount of Elemental Cores (which is specified on the unique item)
    • An amount of Pristine Cores
The amount of Elemental Cores and Pristine Cores you need is 150 on Tier 1 plus 50 for each additional Tier of the unique item. You can find the cores in Parallel World Dungeons on Infernal Difficulty OR you can buy them from Salvendar for Mf 300 each.

(In simple words: They are used as a main resource for all kind of crafting. You can use them to upgrade the old Unique Items by transferring enchantments from normal items. In example Legendary to Unique Items crafting.)
  • Soul Core1 Icon Soul Core - You can transfer the enchantments from a unique item onto a higher tier unique item with Soul Core Crafting. For that combine:
    • A unique item eligible for transfer crafting (stated on the item)
    • The same unique item, but on a lower or same Tier than the first one
    • An amount of Elemental Cores (which is specified on the unique items)
    • An amount of Soul Cores
The amount of Elemental Cores and Soul Cores you need is 200 on Tier 2 plus 50 for each additional Tier of - depending on the highest Tier between the used unique items. You can find the cores in Parallel World Dungeons on Infernal Difficulty OR you can buy them from Salvendar for Mf 300 each.

(In simple words: You can use them to transfer enchantments between different Tiers of Unique Items. In example: You have already transferred 60% Critical Damage from Legendary Ring into Tier 2 Mortis' Ring of Death. But after one month you got Tier 3 Mortis' Ring of Death and since you already destroyed your Legendary Ring with 60% Critical Damage within the previous crafting process, now you can transfer the enchantments from your Tier 2 Ring into Tier 3 ring who will probably have higher base stats.)
  • Augment Core Icon Augment Core - You can increase the tier of a unique item with Augment Core crafting. For that combine:
    • A unique item eligible for transfer crafting (stated on the item)
    • A legendary item of the same slot type (e.g. Helmet, Two-handed Weapon,...) that is one tier higher than the unique item
    • An amount of Elemental Cores (which is specified on the Unique Item)
    • An amount of Augment Cores
The amount of Elemental Cores and Augment Cores you need is 100 when upgrading Tier 0 item plus 50 for each additional Tier. You can find the cores in Gnob's Shop in Kingshill for Drak14 5 each.
(In simple words: You can use them to upgrade the Tier of Unique Items to the next higher Tier. In example: if you have already crafted Unique Item with Pristine Core Transfer Crafting, you can upgrade the item's tier with Augment Core Transfer Crafting. All you need is: Unique Item and a Legendary Item one Tier higher than the used unique item.
  • Dark Core1 Icon Dark Core - Dark Cores can be used to transfer enchantments between items using Pristine Core or Soul Core transfer crafting.
    To complete the crafting find:

Pristine Core transfer crafting

Pristine Core transfer crafting is used for transferring enchantments from regular items onto unique items. In example when you want to transfer enchantments from your legendary item onto unique item.

Explanation of the process

Before starting Pristine Core transfer crafting you gotta ask yourself a question:"Do I feel lucky?" ... Well not quite that question XD but the other one "Are you ready to craft?". You should start crafting only when you are ready. In other words you have to be sure if you are willing to lose your Legendary item, because in the process of crafting the enchantments are being transferred onto unique item but the Legendary item is lost forever.
Important: You can transfer enchantments from regular items ONLY to level 51+ items. In other words your old level 50 unique sets are not eligible for Pristine Core transfer crafting.
There is one exception with the Unique Items that are eligible for refining. You can buy Equipment Refiner Icon Equipment Refiner from the shop and convert the Unique Items and turn them to Items eligible for crafting. Note: these items have note in the tooltip saying they are eligible for refining , however ... this process is irreversible and your Items will change the stats and lose the possible added gem/rune slots.

Legacy Unique Item Crafting tooltip

- Your old crafted level 50 Legendary items are eligible for Pristine Core transfer crafting. You can transfer their enchantments onto corresponding level 51+ unique items.

Let's get ready to rumble!
To start the process of Pristine Core transfer crafting we need to have: good legendary item, unique item eligible for crafting and both Pristine Cores and Elemental Cores.
In this example I am going to use level 55 Tier 3 Fjalnir's Ring of Frost and crafted old level 50 legendary ring.
For that purpose as stated in the tooltip:

Eligible RoF

We will need 250x Pristine Core Icon Pristine Core and 250x Frost Core Icon Frost Core.

T3 Ring Craft

To understand what we are doing during this process, let us see the used items and their enchantments. We are using Legendary Ring with these enchantments:

Legendary Ring BC

and Fjalnir's Ring of Frost with these enchantments and base stats:

Unique Ring BC

and the outcome looks like this:

T3 Ring after C

So what we did during the Pristine core transfer crafting? We simply moved the enchantments (values in blue color) from the Legendary Ring onto Tier 3 Fjalnir's Ring of Frost.
While the enchantments from the legendary item replaced the enchantments of the unique item we can see that the unique item's base stats and Unique Values (in orange) remain exactly the same.
In same time we can notice that those enchantments from level 50 ring are now upgraded to level 55 during the process of crafting.
After the crafting is done, the newly crafted unique item is keeping the gem/rune slots, which is not the case with the legendary items. (unlike leg to leg crafting where you always get average number of gem/rune slots into the new item).

Lets start another crafting, but this time with higher level Legendary Item (with base stats) and Tier 4 Bearach's Instinct

Leg Belt exampleCrafted leg belt transfer to unique

During the crafting process same thing has happened as in the previous example: the unique item has got enchantments from the legendary item but has kept his base stats and unique values.
The only thing different in this example is the amount and type of the cores used in the process. This time we have used 300x Pristine Core Icon Pristine Core and 300x Shock Core Icon Shock Core (+50 for each additional tier) because we were using Tier 4 unique item.

Legendary Weapon to Unique Weapon Pristine Core transfer crafting example:

Unique BCLegendary BCT4 Weapon Craft
T4 after C

Note: You can always repeat the process of crafting to already crafted Unique Item. In example: If you have a better legendary item than the one you have already used for crafting, you can use it on the crated unique item. The unique item should get new enchantments from the new item used for crafting.
You can also upgrade the Tier of the same crafted unique item - we will discuss that in the following Soul Core and Augment Core transfer crafting.

Soul Core transfer crafting

Let us now explain the Soul Core transfer crafting process and its purpose.
The purpose of the Soul Core transfer crafting is to upgrade item's Tier (or you can observe it as passing enchantments from one unique item to another with different tier). In this process you will need two identical items of different or same tier (with Soul Core transfer crafting you can skip tiers and upgrade from Tier 0 to Tier 5).
You will also need adequate number of cores (same rule as before: +50 cores for each additional Tier.) both Soul Cores and Elemental Cores (see above).
Important Rules :

  • 1. You should always place the items with higher base stats/tier in the first slot at the workbench (that item is keeping the base stats, level and tier).
  • 2. You should always place the item with better enchantments in the second slot at the workbench (this item is giving the enchantments).
  • 3. Always be careful what slot you put the items into, if you make a mistake you can lose the enchantments/tier/base stats.
  • 4. Always be careful with the item's level, since you can upgrade the level and tier in same time ... BUT ... if you place the item in a wrong slot you will downgrade the level of the item (in example from level 55 to level 50).
  • 5. The item in the first slot determines the amount of cores.
  • 6. The item in the first slot is always keeping the gem/rune slots.

Explanation of the process

Note : Some of the following examples are from the old system (you can see that by the different looking of the workbench) but they are still valid. The only difference is you should follow the RULES (see above) and always watch what slot you put the items into. In example: with the old system you could place the item with higher tier in any slot, it was not important since the system was always taking the tier/base stats from the item with higher Tier. Now you should be careful and always put the item with the higher Tier in the first slot.
Lets take two Arachna's Amulets of different Tier, one Tier 3 and one Tier 4 amulet and put them at the workbench.

Soul Core crafting ingredients

The goal is to upgrade the tier of the first amulet into the higher tier amulet. We are trying to get Tier 4 amulet, that is why we will need 300x Soul Core Icon Soul Core and 300x Venom Core Icon Venom Core (see the tooltip of the item what kind of elemental cores you should use).
With the Soul Core transfer crafting process we are keeping the enchantments from the lower tier item and the base stats from the higher tier item:

Soul Core crafting Lower TierSoul Core crafting Higher Tier

As we can see in the example pictures the higher tier amulet has higher base stats than the other one.
After this process of crafting we are getting T4 amulet with its exact base stats and enchantments from the lower tier amulet.

Soul Core crafting Final Craft

Some will ask "Why spending time and resources on this useless process?" when the higher tier amulet already has higher base stats and enchantments as well.
But the purpose of the Soul Core transfer crafting is not to upgrade plain Unique Items but to upgrade the tier of an already Pristine Core crafted Unique Item. This way you are keeping the enchantments from the Improved / Magic / Extraordinary / Legendary Items used in the Pristine Core transfer crafting process.
Note: Cloaks can't be used with Pristine Core transfer crafting, yet Soul Core transfer crafting is very useful in case of cloaks. This will be covered later in the in the guide below.
To make it more vivid and understandable let us start it from the very beginning.

Imagine you already have in possession crafted Legendary Items (in this example Legendary Amulet) with very good enchantments. Then you decide to transfer the enchantments from that amulet onto Unique Item by using Pristine Core transfer crafting.

T3 craftT3 leg amulet craftT3 craft final

Then you are using the amulet and you like it very much. However, one day you get same amulet but with higher Tier and higher base stats. and you already lost your legendary item with the previous crafting.
All you have to do is to start Soul Core transfer crafting and transfer the enchantments from the lower tier amulet into the new one.

1 Soul Core crafting ingredients

As said earlier, you will need one lower Tier Pristine Core crafted amulet and a new higher tier unique amulet with better base stats. You will also need 300x Soul Core Icon Soul Core and 300x Venom Core Icon Venom Core to complete the crafting process.

1 Soul Core crafting Lower Tier1 Soul Core crafting Higher Tier

After you have completed the Soul Core transfer crafting process, you have successfully made transfer to the enchantments from the old into the new amulet.

1 Soul Core crafting Final Craft

Upgrading Tier and Level

With Soul Core transfer crafting you can upgrade not just the tier but the level of an item as well.
If you have old Unique Item eligible for refining you can use Equipment Refiner Icon Equipment Refiners and convert them to new items. Then you can do Pristine Core transfer crafting and transfer enchantments from legendary items ... and then you can upgrade their tier. You can do it the other way around too, first upgrading the tier and then transfer enchantments from a legendary item (or maybe you already have level 50 crafted item).
Lets take one example with Dragan's Grim Signet Ring

Example Dragan ring - uniqueExample Dragan ring - legExample Dragan ring - final

You can see it is a level 50 Tier 3 item. From this point on ... you can upgrade it to Level 55 with any tier (you can also upgrade only the tier of level 50's item and then upgrade it with glyphs but it cost too much).

Example Dragan ring - final SCraft

This way you can get level 55 item from old level 50 item.
The amount of cores required for the process are determined by the unique item in the first slot.
Important!
You have to pay attention where the items are placed. if you make an error you can downgrade the item's level and tier and loose the enchantments. in other words you can destroy the item. The following example shows you what will happen if you don't pay attention.

3 reverse soul core crafting lower level and tier3 reverse soul core crafting higher level and tier3 reverse soul core crafting final

Soul Core transfer crafting and Cloaks

Soul core crafting especially comes handy in case of the cloaks. Cloaks can't be used with Pristine and Augment core crafting (because there are no regular cloak item drops) they can be only used with Soul core transfer crafting.
This crafting serve us to change the enchantments of an existing cloak and pass them to lower, same or higher tier cloak.
Different Tier crafting
When crafting cloaks the item with a higher tier should be in the first slot while the item with the lower tier should be placed in the second slot. The remaining two slots are for Soul and elemental/solid cores (the amount of cores needed is same as mentioned earlier).

CloakC Different Tier

The cloak with the higher tier in the first slot is keeping the base stats and Tier and the cloak with the lower tier in the second slot is passing the enchantments to the first cloak.
This is useful when you already have a cloak with higher tier and good base stats but having a bad enchantments. If you have a cloak with good enchantments you can pass them to the cloak with good base stats.
Usually cloaks of higher tier have better maximum values for the enchantments but they are still random, so it is possible to have lower tier cloak with better enchantments than the higher tier one.
Same Tier crafting
You can craft cloaks (other items as well) with same tier.
This crafting is useful when you have two items of same tier but one has good base stats and the other one has good enchantments.
The cloak with good base stats should be placed in the first slot and the other one with good enchantments should be in the second slot.

CloakC Same Tier

Different Tier REVERSE crafting
This will happen if you don't pay attention where (in which slot) you place the items. You can downgrade your item and lose the good base stats.

CloakC Different Tier Reversed

However ... this crafting is very useful because you can pass the enchantments from higher tier cloak to already existing lower tier cloak with excellent base stats.
For this crafting you should place the item with lower tier in the first slot (since we want to keep the base stats) and put the other item with higher tier and better enchantments in the second slot.

CloakC Different Tier Reversed1CloakC Different Tier Reversed2

In the example above you can actually see that the second items has lower value enchantments but it is only example, you can have better ones.:)

CloakC Different Tier Reversed3

This way you can get lower tier cloak with good base stats and enchantments.
Note: the following conclusion is not referring to cloaks (cloaks can't be used with Augment cores) but in general.
Why is this crafting useful? Because we can keep the good (golden) base stats and transfer good enchantments in the same item. Yes, it will be a lower tier item but you can later upgrade it to any tier with Augment Core transfer crafting. You can save resources/drakens by upgrading the tier with Augment Core Icon Augment Core instead of spending tons of drakens/materi fragments on items in the shop and never get a good item. :)

Augment Core transfer crafting

Augment Core transfer crafting is pretty much straightforward. All you need to have is:

  • Unique Item (any tier)
  • Legendary Item (one tier higher than the unique item)
  • enough Augment Core Icon Augment Cores
  • enough elemental/solid/draken cores

The number of cores needed for the crafting is determined by the unique item's Tier.
With Augment Core transfer crafting you can't make a mistake, the Unique Item is always in the first slot and the Legendary Item is in the second slot.
You can upgrade the unique item from Tier 0 to Max. Tier. However, unlike the Soul Core transfer crafting, with augment Core transfer crafting you can't skip tiers. That means you can only upgrade the item to the next level (from T1 to T2, from T2 to T3 ... etc).
During this crafting you are keeping both the base stats and the enchantments, with the only difference ... the base stats are getting higher according to the Tier respectively.

Example (there is not much to be explained):

Augment Core crafting1 - ingredients

The unique item goes into the first and the legendary item goes into the second slot.

Augment Core crafting1 - unique lower tierAugment Core crafting1 - leg higher tierAugment Core crafting1 - final outcome

Repeat the same process until you get the maximum/desired tier.

Augment Core crafting 2 to 5 - ingredientsAugment Core crafting 3 to 5 - ingredientsAugment Core crafting 4 to 5 - ingredients

And here is the final outcome from upgrading the unique item from Tier 1 to Tier 5.

Augment Core crafting 5 final to 5 - ingredients

Note: During this process you are always keeping the number of gem/rune slots from the unique item (if you had 5 slots , after the crafting you will have 5 slots again).

Gem/Rune slots

  • Pristine Core transfer crafting
With Pristine Core transfer crafting you need to open one gem/rune slot into the unique item and that number of slots will remain every time you decide to erase the old enchantments and replace them with new ones.
  • Soul Core transfer crafting
While with Pristine Core transfer crafting you are always keeping the number of gem/rune slots in the unique item, with Soul Core transfer crafting you are losing one gem/rune slot (if opened) from the old unique item because you are transferring enchantments into a new item.
With the new changes, with Soul Core crafting system you are always keeping the number of gem/rune slots from the item in the first slot.
  • Augment Core transfer crafting
With Augment Core transfer crafting the unique item is keeping the same amount of gem/rune slots.
